Conditions

Allergies

Allergies occur when the immune system reacts too strongly to substances that are normally harmless. These substances—called allergens—can include things like pollen, certain foods, dust, or medications. Instead of ignoring them, the body treats them as a threat and releases chemicals that trigger symptoms.

Allergic reactions vary widely. Some people experience mild irritation, while others may develop serious or even life-threatening symptoms if not properly managed.

Asthma

Asthma is a long-term condition that affects the airways in the lungs, making it harder to breathe. When exposed to certain triggers, the airways can become inflamed, swollen, and narrowed, often producing excess mucus. This leads to episodes of breathing difficulty that can range from mild to severe.

While asthma cannot always be cured, it can be effectively controlled with proper care and treatment, allowing most people to live active, normal lives.

Eczema

Eczema, also known as atopic dermatitis, is a chronic skin condition that causes dryness, irritation, and inflammation. It often appears in cycles, with periods of flare-ups followed by times when symptoms improve. Although it is more common in children, eczema can affect people of all ages.

This condition is not contagious, but it can be uncomfortable and may require ongoing care to keep symptoms under control.

Food Allergies

Food allergies occur when the immune system mistakenly identifies certain foods as harmful and reacts against them. Even a small amount of the trigger food can cause symptoms, which may range from mild discomfort to serious, life-threatening reactions.

Unlike food intolerances, food allergies involve the immune system and require careful diagnosis and management.

Sinusitis

Sinusitis is a condition where the sinuses—air-filled spaces in the face—become inflamed or swollen. This inflammation can block normal drainage, causing mucus to build up and leading to pressure, congestion, and discomfort.

Sinusitis may be short-term (acute) or long-lasting (chronic), depending on how long symptoms persist and how often they occur.

Immunodeficiency

Immunodeficiency refers to a condition in which the body’s immune system is weakened or not functioning properly. This reduces the body’s ability to fight infections, making individuals more prone to frequent, severe, or unusual illnesses.

Immunodeficiency can be present from birth (primary) or develop later in life due to other medical conditions or treatments (secondary).
